- American Transportation Expert (2016); selected by the U.S. Department of State to support smart city solutions in India. Dr. Peeta met with state and city government officials, stakeholders, and Indian urban development experts to learn and share work on the sustainability of transportation systems in India’s cities. Discussions focused on sustainability, traffic management, livability, and systems perspectives, including reducing transportation congestion, enhancing access and connectivity, and planning transportation in harmony with cultural heritage.
- Chair, Transportation Network Modeling Committee (2007-2013); administered the annual paper review process for the past 6 years, and workshops and other outreach activities of the committee.
- Member, TRB Travel Analysis Methods Section Executive Board (2007- 2013); member of the leadership team of this section that discusses Section activities and sets policies consistent with TRB guidelines.
